Transformational RD4KB Journey
What can you expect from this publication? Three "streams" of content...
Shalom! I’m glad you’ve decided to join us on this journey.
I say “journey” because this new publication is not just to engage you informationally, but to engage you transformationally! That means that I am attempting to serve and support you and your deepening relationship with God and others by engaging you through this virtual tool! Now that’s a tall order! As those of you who know me have so often heard me say:
The informational becomes transformational when it is relational.
Thus, what you can expect from this new publication is that every post will entail one or more of the following three themes. Specifically, these emails will always be:
Relationally-Driven: my life message is “Relational depth for Kingdom breadth” (RD4KB) and means that we prioritize relationships over tasks, people over programs, and recognize that our primary mandate is the relational charge to love God and love others increasingly well…and love must be worked out through relationships. And while relationships are inherently messy, God is extraordinarily good at redeeming our messiness.
Scripture-Centric: I seek to live under the Word of God and help others grow in biblical literacy with roots in the Torah and a wholehearted surrender to the Messiah.
Disability-Focused: while not every post will be about disability, God has clearly called me to live and lead by prioritizing disability and people impacted by disability. Furthermore, God has called me to do this through a biblical lens. Specifically, this means focusing on helping ALL people grow in the kind of faith modeled first for us by Abraham who trusted God and followed by walking by faith and not by sight.
To be clear—not every post will deal with every theme. Every post will, however, relate to at least one of the above themes. Also, the goal is not just to feed your mind but to challenge you—and help you—to go deeper in your relationship with God and others. I believe I can do this best by helping you prioritize relationships, engage the Bible, and/or focus on disability as ways to deepen your faith. Thus, the tagline for this publication is:
Relationally-Driven Biblical Faith for ALL!
Feel free to hold me accountable to this commitment and to give me feedback on whether these emails are encouraging or helpful in any way.
Toward these ends, starting sometime after Shabbat tomorrow night, I will begin sending out a weekly post that will point you to a free online devotional commentary I have written to help promote Scripture for ALL, specifically the Parashah Project.
If you are unfamiliar with the Parashah Project, HERE is a link to a brief overview video. This video is also posted on the Parashah Project homepage. Furthermore, I encourage you to visit the Parashah Project website and explore the various “About” pages that provide additional overview.
I have much more exciting content to share with you in the days ahead, but for now, we are going to start with this ancient Hebraic approach to the Bible to help you engage God’s Word with these weekly posts. So, keep an eye out tomorrow night after sundown or early Sunday morning for the first weekly installment of the Parashah Project which will point you to the weekly readings and the free online devotional commentary. I’ll be sending these out every week and will provide more guidance along the way. I look forward to the journey ahead as we unroll the scroll together and begin engaging additional issues related to RD4KB, Bible, and Disability with a focus on the supremacy of Jesus (whom I typically refer to by His Hebrew name, Yeshua)!
Shalom!
